HCHC TO HOST GOA 100th ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE – CALL FOR PAPERS

Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology will hold an academic conference from October 6-8, 2022 in observance of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The organizing committee welcomes paper proposals from scholars and advanced graduate students on topics related to the history of the Greek Orthodox Church in America. Topics could include, but are certainly not limited to, research on the leaders (ordained and lay) of the Archdiocese, the relationship of the Archdiocese to American society, the growth and development of various institutions of the Archdiocese, various eras of change and significant events in the life of the Archdiocese, the distinct contribution of the Greek Orthodox Church in America to Orthodox unity in America. Proposals and abstracts should be no more than 350 words, with an abbreviated cv of the author. Presenters of accepted papers will be given 20-25 minutes at the conference and will be invited to offer the full paper for possible publication in the Greek Orthodox Theological Review and a planned volume following the conference. Funds may be available to cover transportation and housing during the event, but paper presenters are expected to attend in person.
